OK fridge thermometer devised and manufactured by uk company
Fridge manufacturers join forces to create food safety awareness
Food poisoning cases increase each year with much of this being traceable to fridge temperatures being too warm. Consumers should be able to check if their fridge is at the correct temperature.
Over ten years ago we were approached to devise a special liquid crystal fridge thermometer which was to be used in a major Food Safety Awareness campaign promoting 'the importance of correct food storage temperatures' within domestic refrigerators across France'.
This initiative led us to develop our time delay 'OK' liquid crystal fridge thermometer, which is now integrated into the majority of European Fridges for use within the domestic fridge market.
The GIFAM syndicate launched the Food/Safety campaign in advance of a future French directive stipulating that all domestic fridges in France should include a thermometer.
The special thermometers were included in food and safety literature handed to every consumer buying a fridge at the campaign's launch date.
We now have produced many millions of fridge thermometers for the European domestic fridge market.
